Please help me “congratulate” one of the greatest women I know to date, my Best-friend, “Maria Clark” who now holds four undergraduate degrees 🎓📜🎓📜🎓📜🎓
On Saturday May 11, 2019, Maria Clark a native of Cleveland, OH who currently resides in Arkansas, “walked it like she talked it” across the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center’s stage in Fort Washington, Maryland not once, but twice with “Academic Honors” receiving her Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Transportation & Logistical Management, and her Associates of Arts (AA) in Weapons of Mass Destruction from the American Military University (AMU). If given the opportunity, she would have walked three times because she also received her Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Homeland Security.
Maria is apart of the 2019 American Public University System’s class of “10,000”. Their largest class!!
It has truly been an honor to have walked with her along her transitional path from a young girl who had been lost, to a found beautiful, mature, educated, responsible and successful adult black woman. She has overcome every obstacle that was thrown on her path, from battling being a foster child to joining and achieving the rank of Sergeant in the United States Armed Forces.
Maria’s story is very captivating and compelling, which I hope someday she will write and share with the world. She is the true definition of resilience. Not allowing her past to keep her captive from her future is what I admire and love most about her. I am very grateful that I was invited and provided the opportunity to watch her cross one of the biggest stages of her life not once, but twice.
Maria isn’t done yet, she will be continuing her education, obtaining her Masters Degree , followed by her PhD.
Maria, I love you. Thank you for changing for the better and getting it done. You are lighting up the universe. Congratulations on these amazing achievements, Job well done — Jameel
