The ONESEVEN, an entertainment revolution that focuses on the origins of the world’s Top Rising scenes in Ohio, has nominated Cleveland Ohio’s own Jameel Davis, for the 2018 Businessman of The Year Award at this year’s Legend Awards.
About Your Businessman of The Year Nominee:
Jameel Davis, earned his BA in Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2013, and has been a Correctional Officer at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department ever since. Later after being employed at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department, he became, an Agent of Change, a Speaker, Writer, Poet and Author.
Davis is a positive and highly respectable individual. He is a man of change, an encouraging leader, with many proteges of all ages and backgrounds; from toddlers to adults, students to professionals, and even incarcerated individuals. He often speaks and shares his poetry in front of groups, and delivers keynote speeches at schools and organizations.
Jameel has served as a panelist for Cleveland Clinic’s Youth Violence Discussion, as part of their Safe Summer Campaign. He have lead breakout sessions on Effective Communication Skills, has been nominated by The Ohio Kings for the Ohio Entertainment Awards Businessman of the Year, and was selected by Project Love, to co-facilitate the Debra Ann November Kickoff For Kindness event held at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center. Jameel is featured in the 10th, 11th and 12th Anniversary Editions of Who’s Who in Black Cleveland, the 10th edition being forwarded by Lebron James. He appeared as a guest on WVON-1690 Chicago (Matt McGill’s morning show), WENZ Z107.9, Black Squirrel Radio, KAZ Radio TV Network, and on many other radio platforms.
Jameel has been featured at many Barnes & Noble Bookseller locations on the East Coast, and has traveled north to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, appearing with, “How Success Became My Focus” and “Cultivating Minds To Own Thyself.”
The Ohio Entertainment Awards has presented Jameel Davis with the 2017 Inspirational Entrepreneur Award at the OEA Honors held Sunday November 5, 2017. Jameel, is the recipient of the 2018 Eric Scott Russell Kindness Award, which was presented at the 23rd Annual Rescuer of Humanity Awards Dinner at Landerhaven on the evening of January 18, 2018. Jameel was the first of 7 award recipients, who left a permanent mark in the minds and hearts of 700+ guests with his stellar poetry presentation.
Jameel Davis is dedicated to promoting kindness, understanding and hope to Cleveland’s disadvantaged children and adults alike. Jameel is committed to sharing his story, lifting up others and shinning rays of hope throughout Cleveland and beyond. The Businessman of The Year Award will be presented at the Legend Awards, Sunday April 8, 2018 at Sachsenheim Hall. The Red Carpet Event will begin at 4:00 P.M. followed by the Legend Awards ceremony at 5:00 P.M.
