FORMER KENT STATE POETRY SLAM WINNER, COMPETES FOR UNDERGROUND’S SLAM GRAND PRIZE

The Underground (Artisy Heart Studios), every artist playground, will be opening their new doors Saturday April 14, 2018 at 6:30 P.M., to host eight of Cleveland’s most talented poetic artists. One of those artists is former Kent State University’s Slam Winner and also alumni, Jameel Davis.

All eight poets will be competing for a Grand Prize of $100. There will be five panel judges judging the competition and the mic will be open to any artist prior to the slam.

Admission is $35.

Jameel Davis is a celebrated international award winning Cleveland author, international speaker, writer, and founder of ElevatedWaves Publishing Corporation, the only Black-owned publishing company in Cleveland, Ohio. He serves his community as a Law Enforcement Supervisor and Crisis Intervention Specialist with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department.
