New Book “Daddy is Gone: And It’s Your Fault” by Author Jameel Davis

In Progress…

Society has taught us mama is always right, that women are always right; Especially about men. But are they really? Let’s find out just how right they really are.

In the black household headed by strong independent women, we have been taught to never talk back to Big Ma or challenge anything she says even if she’s wrong, out of fear of getting back-handed in the mouth. I have finally mustered up the courage to be bold and brave enough to take on the risk of getting my teeth knocked out in order to save the state of black culture, black women and black families.

Daddy is Gone is a collection of thoughts, phrases, poems and essays that highlights the experiences of blacks who were born and raised without a good father for various reasons and hold accountable those who are responsible. This book challenges black readers from poverty driven environments to go on a journey of peeling back the uncomfortable layers of their family history, relationships and personal identity in order to break the barriers that keep us from loving, depending on and growing with one another. Here, I help women who desire to understand the thoughts and needs of a black man, understand the thoughts and needs of a black man in order to get the outcome they want with a black man for the sake of their children.
